Pilbrow & Partners have been commissioned to design a new sustainable urban quarter in a dramatic 217 hectares site overlooking the Red Sea.

The vision for the neighbourhood, as part of a new city, is to create a destination steeped in the natural beauty of the landscape. The city provides high-end standards of living, attracting residents and visitors who wish to enjoy freedom and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle, while at the same time exploring the surrounding environment and experience the rich and authentic heritage, culture and traditions the region has to offer.

The city grows out of its surrounding environment – its urban form follows the lay of the land and enhances its natural features. The building massing and appearance expressed in the materials, tones and shape of the built elements reflect the natural character of the site, the region, and vernacular architecture.
