Our proposals develop a contemporary response to this villa typology. Three townhouse pavilions face Holland Park stepping up as the road rises towards the park itself. Arranging the accommodation in the free–standing villas allows apartments to be dual aspect and to benefit from good connection to external amenity space.
Duke's Lodge, 80 Holland Park
Pilbrow & Partners were commissioned to undertake a feasibility study for the redevelopment of Duke’s Lodge, Holland Park on behalf of Candy & Candy. The existing building on the site is a post–war Neo–Georgian apartment complex of modest architectural merit. Its neighbours are handsome grand scale early 19th century villas.
The detail and material palette of the proposals makes reference to the ornate white stucco facades of the 19th century buildings with a layered facade executed in cast white porcelain and alabaster.
