65 Davies Street

Fred Pilbrow worked with Tal Ben–Amar and the teams at KPF and PLP to design the oversite development (OSD) above Crossrail’s station at Bond Street West for the Grosvenor Estate. The project marked the first collaboration agreement between Crossrail and a private developer. This is a project of PLP Architecture in association with John McAslan and Partners.

The project integrates the new office building with the infrastructure of the Crossrail Station below, to provide a singular coherent architectural response to this important Mayfair site. The context here was demanding and required an in depth understanding of station function, safety and operational requirements.

Grosvenor’s brief recognised that the building’s delivery would not be realised before 2018. Accordingly, efficient responsive facades, exposed thermal mass, night purge and mixed mode ventilation are allied to energy efficient lighting to meet the brief’s environmental requirements.
