The Kensington Building Shortlisted for AJ Architecture Award

18 08 2022

We are excited to announce that The Kensington Building, London, has been shortlisted for an AJ Architecture Award in the ‘Refurb Project’ category.

Hot on the heels of being nominated for a World Architecture Festival (WAF) Award, the team here is delighted that the building, completed in May this year, has been recognised once again.

Located on the former site of the Pontings department store, the bleak, 1970s edifice has been transformed into a mixed-use development that delivers 95,000ft2 of BREEAM Excellent and WELL Standard Gold workspace and 34,000ft2 of retail space. The people-centred retrofit also incorporates around 12,300ft2 of terraces, promoting bio-diversity and enhancing everyday wellbeing and work-life quality.

It has been fantastic to work with AshbyCapital and Janson Urban on this project and we are looking forward to the results being announced at the awards’ ceremony taking place in November at the Hilton London Metropole hotel.
