Longlisted in the Old Street Iconic Gateway design competition

12 02 2018

We are delighted our proposals for the “Old Street Iconic Gateway” are longlisted and being presented at a public exhibition, opening today.

Together with AKT II, Space Syntax, Motion Transportation and Future City, we suggest a unique public space for London: stimulating, accessible and responsive to the character of this lively and informal neighbourhood. A state-of-the-art display screen forms the backdrop to an elevated piazza.

In December, Islington Council in partnership with the Mayor of London, Transport for London (TfL) and Hackney Council, launched the Old Street Iconic Gateway ‘Open Call for Design Ideas’, seeking innovative ideas to transform Old Street when the 1960s roundabout is removed. More than 120 submissions were received, and The Deck and Screen is one of the 39 entries that have been longlisted for the public exhibition.

The public exhibition will be held during weekdays between 12 February and 2 March, from 12pm (noon) – 6pm at 2-4 Old Street Yard (1st Floor, Building 3), London EC1Y 8AF (behind the White Collar Factory).

Visit the public exhibition and have your say. We would love to have your vote and look forward to hearing your feedback!
